Course Description
This course is designed for student who have successfully completed Latin II or Latin III. Students will build their Latin vocabulary and strengthen their grammar skills by reading and translating both adapted and un-adapted selections from Latin prose texts such as speeches, letters, philosophical treatises and histories. Authors read may include but are not limited to Caesar, Cicero, Pliny the Younger, and Petronius. All readings will be accompanied by relevant vocabulary work and advanced grammar study. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the literature in its historical, political, social and literary contexts. NCAA Approved. |
